cartoon artists for hire service . but the artist has no control over whether they are paid, and most never see their commissions. their only compensation comes in the form of payment for their time and materials. it may also include commissions and 'marketing' for a fee. some clients are more understanding of the fact that you will paint for free, rather than charging you a fee so then you aren't paid by them. a few months back i received a commission to paint a portrait of an unnamed person for a group i had worked with on a project. it was a large job. i was asked to paint for a period between 3-4 weeks, and so i decided to do my best, and finish it in the time period. i began my work on the first day, and finished it in the middle of the day. so then the client said that instead of showing the work (or at least i think it was the client), then they would use it as promotional material for his own company, he would ask me to paint for a period between 3-4 weeks, he would then give me the profits and i would go off to paint something else. i was upset, but i gave it my best that day. so i went out and painted the portrait, which i was really happy about. i also did it for free because i was trying to do my best work, just for free.
