Hire original business cards
why go to a local paper in your neighborhood to pick up a card with your business's logo on it? why not send the print-to-order cards right to your clients? that's what the new company that recently bought a former new york times-owned printer in brooklyn wants to do.
that's exactly what mark levinson does with his company's new print-to-order operation: the company has expanded its business by 50 percent in the last year, and it offers customized business cards for a wide variety of companies like the red sox, nascar, the new york times, the nfl, and the nba. it has a print-to-order business card for all five new york yankees, and several more major brands including the new england patriots, the red bulls of the mls, and the pittsburgh pirates.
it's a lot of work, but the payoff is significant: all the clients who receive custom business cards have to pay $70 for the first one of the year, and the company does its best to beat that price.
levinson is a partner in the partnership that currently operates out of the two brooklyn-based office locations of blueprint media, the new york production company levinson started in 2004. levinson had been working on a deal with blueprint to print his own cards with his business's logo on them, but the deal fell through and he quickly became involved with blueprint's business card business.
