Hire photo compositing service for $50,000 a year, but after paying for their own server and storage, and an annual fee of $10,000 to hire the service, they have to shell out $60,000 a year. the more work they hire the more they need; it's like a huge corporate tax dodge, where the employer essentially pays the government to have their office staffed. these two agencies, the irs and department of homeland security, provide us with all of this information because they're not supposed to be looking at our e-mail unless we've done something wrong. then we're given a bunch of forms to fill out, give all the information, and they go off and audit it… they never look at the contents of your mailbox, they don't read your email, they go after bad guys, they don't look at the contents of your e-mail, if they come across something they don't like that's illegal they'll just throw it away. we're not getting any of that information. we're just getting a report that says, 'you've been on a watch list for three years, and you haven't done anything wrong here.' we are not entitled to any of this information that we give away. in the book, you also write about the way in which the information that we share is kept private, which is just more power for the government and the corporations they work for in determining who we are and who we can be.
